A detailed description, a photograph (that would enable a duplicate to be manufactured if the event of a total loss) current prices for comparable assessment in the future and other details are all included in a laminated copy of your registered valuation. 
Given recent precious metal votility, we would certainly recommend an update on anything 5 years or older.
